The new field of M-Commerce is born today. In that, E-agriculture has been playing a key role. Few farmers established their Co-operative societies, Corporations for E-agriculture. Near Pune Talegaon Dabhade the place from where the processed and standardised goods of agriculture exported through E-agriculture. Agroprocesssing and Agrobusiness commissionrate of Agriculture , Govt. of Maharashtra , Pune export department makes all online transctions from registration of the farmars, analysis , grading I, II and III and provides AGMARK. etc. Paperless system develop by this organisation. The place talegaon Dabhade is renowned place in Maharashtra for the export of agricultural goods. The goods like capsicum, Tomato, Chilli, Onion, Grapes, Pomegrantes, Strawberry, Rose flowers etc. exported by the farmers corporations and Co-operative societies. This Organisation of farmers is very helpful in rasing the financial position of the farmers of Western Maharashtra. They received help of Govt. also. The John Deer Equipments Pvt. Ltd. is the multinational company in Pune developed the Computerised tractors. The farmers can take service of the tractors in field by just sitting at their residence. In Vidarbha not a single organisation of farmers is there for using E-agriculture.
One best thing in Vidarbha is that, the ITC’s international business awarded company E-choupal is working for the welfare of the farmers. The head office of E-choupal is at Hydrabad and branch office for Maharashtra is at Nagpur. In Maharashtra they established their offices in various areas. In Western Vidarbha they started their business at Akola district with 39 computers in 39 villages, at Buldhana with 67 computers in 67 villages and in Washim 69 Computers in 69 Villages The cost of establishment of one computer is nearabout Rs. 2,50,000/- only. On free of cost company provides computer to the farmers. Company selects one person with social work background from the village and he is known as director.
The Company have their own satelite known as "V- Satt ". Through that the farmers is given the information regarding wheather forecast, cropping pattern, market prices and other significant information at their residence and can take the benefit of the market and situation. According to the prices in the market company purchases the pulses like Soya, Udid, Toor and Wheat and Jawar. Company directly purchases agricultural goods from the farmers and never demands the commission. Company have their own plants where they process on the agriculture products and exported at various countries and at local market. farmers get immediate cash payment on purchase.
In Vidarbha there is a need of such types of organisations. So that the farmers could be trained in
a) Modern technology of agriculture production
b) Information regrading climate, plantation, and the sale of goods. Today’s age is the age of IT and hence, E-choupal is very useful to the farmers of Vidarbha.
